Brain Rules Book Summary
=> There are many such creatures on this earth, which are much more powerful than Physically humans. But still, by using our brain, we humans have made so much progress that we could not even think. That is why if you just understand that in which condition the brain works well, then you can achieve all that you want in your personal and professional life, that's why in today's blog I will give you John Medina's New York Times Bestseller Book I am going to tell you some of the rules of brain rules that will be very useful to you everywhere.
Rule Number - 1 (Exercise Boosts Brain Power)
=> About 20 million years ago, our ancestors Homo Sapiens used to walk for about 12 Miles Per Day every day in search of food. In today's time, we get home delivery of all the necessary things at home. Even if we have to get out of the house for something, we also book cabs very comfortably in 3 - 4 Clicks and at the same time, in our offices and schools, such an atmosphere is maintained so that we are comfortable throughout the day. Sit and work comfortably, which is neither good for our body nor for our mind.
By doing daily exercise or walking, blood flow increases in our body, which helps in transporting Glucose and Oxygen to our Mind and to get out the Toxic Waste around the Mind. And As a Result our mind can think more effectively. A person can live for 30 days or more without eating. But if our mind does not get oxygen for 5 minutes, then it can be Seriously Permanent Damage and if mind gets daily less oxygen then it also affects its thinking capacity. That is why the author suggests that everyone should do Aerobic Exercise 2 days a week. Aerobic Exercises is the exercise in which our body moves very fast like Swimming, Cycling, Walking Etc.
Rule Number - 2 (The Human Brain Evolved, Too)
=> We humans are not the most powerful creatures on earth physically. But still we were able to make so much progress because our brain has developed too much with time. There is a part of our Mind Body that ensures our Survival and helps us find a solution to the problems related to Survival. Solve your problems, co-operate with other humans and improve yourself by learning from your mistakes. This is the qualifications due to which we humans are still alive on this earth and are able to make so much progress.
About 2 lakh years ago, we humans used to co-operate with each other to protect ourselves from other animals. And even in today's time, we would be able to do our work by co-operating with each other everywhere, whether it is school, college or any corporate office. That is why if an Employee does not feel comfortable with his Employer or any Student with his Teacher, then he will not be able to use his mind with full efficiency because any person can achieve Maximum Creativity and Productivity only when people around him Co-operate with him and support and encourage him.
Rule Number - 3 (Every Brain is Wired Differently)
=> Whatever work we do in our life or whatever we learn, our brain changes physically. In this world, the brain of every human being is different from each other, that is, the brain of all students, employees and customers is wired differently from each other, even the brain of two twins is not the same but our education system Ignore does, but the same companies like YouTube and Facebook understand this very well. According to your previous Engagement history, the content shows you, so that you stay on their platform for a long time and they keep making money.
Rule Number - 4 (We Don’t Pay Attention to Boring Things)
=> Our Brain Boring is not made to pay attention to things for a long time, so if you want someone to listen to your things carefully, then you have to do something interesting in every 10 minutes so that the brain of the person in front of you talks about you. Do not put boring. Multitasking is promoted in our corporate offices, but according to Researchers our brain is not made for multitasking, therefore, due to multitasking, the chances of error are increased by almost 4 times and when driving a car while using mobile, the alcohol picks up the car. More dangerous than driving.
Due to multitasking, it takes us 50% more time than normal to do any work. That is why doing multitasking is neither good for your work nor for your productivity. Organizations are the most unproductive where employees keep answering emails or phone calls during work. Because when the Employees are online, they are distracted.
Distraction is the enemy of Productivity, so while doing any work, try to put yourself in a distraction free environment and keep your phone away from you before starting work. Doing this will bring you more results in less time and you will feel Productive.
Rule Number - 5 (Repeat to Remember)
=> We forget 90% of what we study in our school within 30 days and maximum out of this 90% we forget within few hours of completion of class. You may have also experienced this. Our brain can simultaneously remember 7 Pieces of Information up to Maximum 30 Seconds, that is, you can remember any 7 Digit Number up to Maximum 30 Seconds and to remember it for longer then you have to repeat the information.
To memorize any information for a long time, repeating it is the easiest and effective way. If you have forgotten any information, then to recall it back, you can recreate the same environment as you had remembered that information in the environment.
For example - If you want to remember a password of an ID that was created by sitting in a cafe near your home, then to remember that password again, you have to go to the cafe again and create the same atmosphere. In the environment, he had set his password. By doing this, the chances of missing the password will increase a lot.
Rule Number -6 (Sleep Well, Think Well)
=> Whenever we are sleeping, our brain remains awake at that time and whatever we learned throughout the day, stores it on its place. That is why good sleep is important to understand and remember things well. Biochemicals fight is going on in our brain for almost the entire afternoon and around 3 pm, one of which wants to keep us awake while the other wants to put us to sleep. That is why if you feel sleepy around 3 in the afternoon, then it is normal and taking Nap of 30 - 40 minutes in the afternoon will also help you to improve your work efficiency and increase productivity.
Rule Number - 7 (Stressed Brains Don’t Learn the Same Way)
=> Human mind is not made for long term stress. That is why our brain can face any stress without any problem for maximum 30 Seconds. But if the stress is long term, then it can weak our immune system and reduce or eliminate our sleeping Ability. And because we have only one brain, the stress related to our professional life negatively influence our personal life and the stress related to our personal life. Although there can be many ways of Stress, but Emotional Stress is a Stress that puts the most Negative Impact on our Society. From reducing the learning ability of a student to reducing the productivity of an employee, the biggest and major stress is the Emotional Stress itself.
Rule Number - 8 (Stimulate More of the Senses)
=> Our Senses are made to work together and Businesses understand this very well. That is why you get Smell of Coffee as soon as you go inside Starbucks and overall such colors and perfumes are used in Starbucks so that even if you do not feel like drinking coffee, then after going inside Starbucks, you will feel like it.
Rule Number - 9 (Vision Trumps All Other Senses)
=> Of all our Senses, the most important is Sense Vision i.e. our Ability to See. That's why whenever you hear something, after 3 days you remember only 10% of it, but if you remember seeing something, then after three days you remember up to 65% of it. That is why try to see it visually to remember anything for a long time.
Rule Number - 10 (Male and Female Brains are Different)
=> We humans By Nature are designed to explore the things around us. That is why if we give an object to a child, he tries to explore it by looking at it, sniffing it, putting it in the mouth and in almost every possible way. And this is because 20 million years ago our ancestor Homo Sapiens used to draw conclusions by exploring the things around him in the same way. Because of this Continues explore nature, we humans have been able to grow so much today.
